The hooded version of Patagonia's most popular stretch-woven soft shell, the Guide Hoody combines stretch, wind-resistance and high levels of breathability with a moisture-wicking brushed interior.

Hardworking and adept in any mountain situation - like any good mountain guide - this soft-shell hoody sheds winter weather, keeps breathing, and resists abrasion. The 4-way polyester/spandex stretch-woven fabric is wind-and-weather-resistant, stretchy, highly breathable and tough as nails on the outside.
 
On the jacket's sensitive side, a brushed interior and chamois-lined collar provide enough next-to-skin comfort to make even the aluminum-foil-chewing, burlap-underwearin' mountain guide sing and dance. The left chest and two handwarmer pockets close with Deluge DWR (durable water repellent) zippers, while the hood fits over a helmet, adjusts with a single pull, and has a laminated visor.
 
Sleek, simple, stretchy self-fabric cuffs and a dual-adjust drawcord hem seal out the elements. Cut trim but with room for underlayers. Recyclable through the Common Threads Recycling Program.

7.6-oz 70-denier 92% polyester (47% recycled) double weave with 4-way stretch/8% spandex, with a Deluge DWR (durable water repellent) finish. Recyclable through the Common Threads Recycling Programme.

Patagonia recycle used soda bottles, unusable second quality fabrics and worn out garments into polyester fibers to produce many of their clothes.

Patagonia’s proprietary durable water repellent fabric finish, Deluge DWR, lasts substantially longer than standard DWRs. Garments with the Deluge DWR finish have like-new repellency after years of extensive use.

It is very easy to manufacture ‘heritage’ and ‘cool’ these days and at Countryside Ski & Climb we make it our business to seek out the genuine from the phoney as great ideas are worth spreading.  Inspired by the courier bags the NYC cycle messengers used to use in the 70’s, Rob Honeycutt, a cycle messenger himself in 1989 San Francisco, took the leap to start manufacturing his own bags in a backstreet garage.
