It is very easy to manufacture ‘heritage’ and ‘cool’ these days and at Countryside Ski & Climb we make it our business to seek out the genuine from the phoney as great ideas are worth spreading. Inspired by the courier bags the NYC cycle messengers used to use in the 70’s, Rob Honeycutt, a cycle messenger himself in 1989 San Francisco, took the leap to start manufacturing his own bags in a backstreet garage.
Patagonia - Powder Bowl Pants
Reliable waterproof protection for the enthusiast who likes to lap it dawn to dusk, first chair to last; made from recycled materials.
Tight tree lines, a bony snowpack and steep bootpaths through gnawing crust add up to a season of abuse. Feel free to jump in and wallow with our crag-defying Powder Bowls. They pair abrasion-resistance with a motion-enhancing design. The tough 2.5-layer canvas shell (made from 100% recycled polyester) with a Deluge DWR (durable water repellent) finish resists hard wear and a waterproof/breathable H2No barrier keeps out the elements.
The seat and thighs are lined with brushed polyester mesh for extra insulation and efficient wicking (with outer thigh vents to help dump extra heat); lower legs are lined with slick mesh for glide. Articulated knees and a gusseted crotch allow legs to move through the full range of motion. The waist has a 2-button closure, zip fly and interior adjustable elastic to customize the fit.
Fully featured gaiters have gripper elastic with adjustable cam buckles, and burly scuff guards to protect from sharp edges. The loops on the rear yoke attach to the powder skirt of all Patagonia Ski/Snowboard jackets. Comes in two inseam lengths (size M): short, 30 1/2"; regular, 32 1/2". Recyclable through the Common Threads Recycling Program.

Material:
Body: 2.5-layer, 7.6-oz 150-denier 100% recycled polyester with a waterproof/breathable H2No barrier and a Deluge DWR (durable water repellent) finish. Lining: seat and thighs: 100% polyester brushed mesh; lower legs: 100% polyester mesh. Recyclable through the Common Threads Recycling Programme.
2.5-layer H2No shell fabrics are waterproof, windproof, breathable and highly packable. They combine a water-repellent shell fabric with Patagonia's H2No waterproof barrier and a raised pattern on the inside, instead of the full-coverage interior scrim used in 3-layer fabrics. The raised pattern makes 2.5-layer fabric packages lighter and more compressible while still protecting the waterproof barrier.
Technology:
H2No
H2No is Patagonia's standard for 100% waterproof and breathable protection in their shell garments. H2No is created by adding a waterproof and breathable laminate or coating to a high performance protective fabric. This fabric package blocks wind and water on the outside while allowing water vapor generated by your body to escape – keeping you warm, dry and comfortable.
