Ori-(to fold) kaso-(plastic): the art of folding plastic.

Applied to tableware this results in a heat resistant, watertight mug, bowl or plate which is constructed from a completely flat piece of polypropylene. Weighing only a few grams and less than a millimetre thick, Orikaso is far easier to transport and store than 'traditional' tableware in any situation where weight and space are an issue. Due to the unique properties of polypropylene, Orikaso products can be used time and time again without suffering any kind of structural fatigue or weakening.

So whether for picnics in the park or tea on top of a mountain Orikaso is the ideal solution for those who want to eat and drink in the great outdoors.

FAQ

Q: Can Orikaso withstand hot liquids?

A: Yes: Orikaso is temperature resistant to over 100°C (212°F) and down to -40°C (-40°F).

Q: Does Orikaso get hot when in use?

A: As with any similar product, Orikaso will conduct heat. However, the handle of the mug is specially designed to minimise the effect of this so that it is safe and comfortable to hold.

Q: How many times can I fold / unfold an Orikaso product?

A: The folds in Orikaso are often referred to as a 'living hinge'; due to the unique properties of polypropylene Orikaso products can be folded thousands of times with none of the problems of fatigue that you would associate with other plastics. We are so confident of this that every Orikaso product comes with a 10-year guarantee.

Q: Can I put an Orikaso product in the dishwasher?

A: Yes.

Q: Can I put an Orikaso product in the microwave?

A: We do not recommend that Orikaso products are used in microwaves as the extreme heat levels involved can cause the product to unfold.

Q: Is Orikaso eco-friendly?

A: Yes it is. Polypropylene is the only plastic endorsed by Greenpeace as an alternative to PVC, since it is cleaner to produce, gives off nothing but carbon dioxide and water if melted and is fully recyclable. All waste from the production of Orikaso is recycled at source. Orikaso is also re-usable so is an environmentally friendly substitute for paper / plastic glasses and plates.
