Patagonia Black Hole
So, looking from your ‘event horizon’, which Black Hole™ is the one for you this season?
Patagonia Black Hole™ fabric is a burly 14-oz 900-denier 100% polyester ripstop (50% solution-dyed) with highly weatherproof TPU film laminate and DWR (durable water repellent) finish. Every Black Hole® duffel, bag and tote now uses 100% recycled materials for the body fabric, lining and webbing of our most durable travel companions—cutting CO2 emissions over the entire Black Hole collection by 50% and reducing our overall use of virgin fabric. It fends off snow and rain while in transit and protects your gear from rough handling. The fabric is bluesign® approved which means it offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in its manufacture to conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment. At Countryside Ski & Climb we stock all the colours because they are as individual as you are and it makes your gear easier to identify on the carousel.
Black Hole™ Duffels and Wheeled Duffels
Available in 4 capacities and also in wheeled versions these duffels are easy to pack as their shape swallows up gear effortlessly and their lightness belies how sturdy they are.
The main compartment of all models is accessed by a zippered U-shaped lid, which has a pair of zippered mesh pockets on the underside for small items. This shape opening makes it far easier to access gear and to pack than a straight central zip of traditional duffels and adds the obvious extra storage capability in the lid.
A zippered exterior pocket holds the stuff you need to access quickly and the non-wheeled versions have a padded bottom panel to add structure and help cushion the load when your duffel gets launched onto a truck.
Carrying options include webbing handles with a snap closure and haul loops at either end that facilitate linking multiple bags if you need. There are four daisy chains on the outside to which you can lash additional gear. The 45 litre duffel comes with a removable webbing shoulder strap and all the larger models also have a shoulder harness (removable) so you can lug it on your back if that’s more convenient. Size matters – here’s the low-down on duffels:
40 Litre – The Weekender; carry-on compatible and sized for quick weekend getaways. 20" x 12.5" x 9.5"
55 Litre – Grab and Go; enough space for a fun-hog weekend or a well-organized extended trip.

100 Litre - Everything but the Kitchen Sink; when leaving something behind is not an option. 32" x 17" x 13"
