The Countryside Ski & Climb team are in the process of adding new products to our website every day. But in the true spirit of the outdoors adding products is very much like climbing a mountain, it's further than it looks, it's higher than it looks and it's harder than it looks.
We will be adding to each of the categories and brands on a regular basis but if there is something you specifically want in the mean time, please either visit our comprehensively stocked Stevenage Old Town store, telephone or send us an email with your query. We will endeavour to respond immediately.

Patagonia® Baselayer Program – All Change for Winter 2015
Patagonia® has been pushing the boundaries in next-to-skin fabrics since day one. They understand that this is the hardest working layer of clothing we wear during outdoor pursuits and is the one you want to take the least notice of in use. This season Patagonia® has re-developed their exclusive, high-end performance fabrics with a revised fit that aligns with all their sport categories and whose DNA is built on a commitment to social and environmental responsibility in manufacture.
This season’s Baselayer Program is divided into three categories, Capilene®, Merino and Daily. The Capilene® and Merino each have different weights on offer. At countryside.co.uk we stock all of them so the choice is yours.
The Capilene® range is a multi-functional, durable and easy-layering polyester baselayer featuring Polygiene odour control. The whole line uses Bluesign® certified and recycled fabric content throughout and the lightest weight (Lightweight) uses completely 100% recycled fabric. The fit has been revised to be slightly less slim-fitting than before but maintains a form fitting silhouette essential for ease of layering and movement. Welcome to your new range: Capilene Lightweight, Midweight and Thermal Weight.
The Merino line retains its unique blend of having a Capilene® core which offers a higher level of durability than merino alone and offers a faster dry time and wicking capability as well as natural odour control. Patagonia® source the merino sustainably in collaboration with The Nature Conservancy and Ovis21 – a company that manages and develops a network of wool producers in the Patagonian Grasslands. In doing so Patagonia® is helping to reverse more than 100 years of over-grazing in this fragile and iconic area of South America. Merino this season also comes in Lightweight, Midweight and Thermal Weight and has the revised fit like the Capilene® line.
New this season as mentioned, in both Capilene® and Merino fabrics is the Daily program offering the same performance in a regular, not so form-fitting silhouette for everyday use. Daily is also nice and stretchy which is great for all body types and offers a 50UPF which gives it versatility when worn alone. Daily is made entirely under Fair Trade™ certified sewing which is a method by which the lives of farmers and workers can be improved through trade, not aid.
All baselayer long-sleeved garments have handy thumb loops and all have ‘locker loops’ and flat seams for comfort. To help you navigate, Thermal Weight is the warmest, offering breathability and low bulk. Midweight is probably the most versatile offering comfort across a broader range of temperatures. Lightweight is, as the name suggests, the lightest weight offering quicker dry times and fast wicking for high adrenaline pursuits. The new Daily range in both Capilene® and Merino is ideal for everyday and is has more stretch for ease of use and comfort.
Good baselayer is the key to outdoor comfort, so browse our collection online or visit us in store and let countryside.co.uk find the best one for you.
