At a certain time in life we learn that gifts are about quality not quantity – well, unless you’re five of course. We also appreciate that Santa has a huge task on his hands and sometimes he’ll struggle with our often very particular ‘wish lists’ when it comes to outdoor kit! So, if he wisely hid an envelope with cash in it under your tree this Christmas, why not test out exactly how much of an angel he thinks you’ve been all year and treat yourself at Countryside Ski & Climb?
We’re getting a bit excited as there are only 7 more sleeps ‘til Christmas. However, especially for you we are trying to maintain a degree of calm in store at Countryside Ski & Climb, because if you lead a busy working life we understand your time and multi-tasking powers are stretched this time of year!
There won’t be too much of that this Christmas as we look forward to giving and being with friends and family over the festive period. At Countryside Ski & Climb we’re thinking about Christmas Lists. Top of ours here is a white Christmas and although that’s not guaranteed in the UK, there’s nothing quite like the wonderful, quiet that comes after a snowfall, especially early in the morning.
Countryside Ski & Climb is staying calm and organised for the festive season with no panic purchases…at least that’s the plan. This is our 35th winter season and we’re still having great fun helping you in your outdoor adventures, so we have a lot to celebrate this Christmas
At Countryside Ski & Climb we love kit that helps us enjoy the great outdoors whatever the weather. But, maintaining training or fitness routines through winter - especially a cold, wet and grey UK winter - requires determination. Sometimes we all need a bit of motivation to get off the couch…
If you’re planning a winter foray this season then perhaps it’s time to re-assess your layering system. We understand rain very well in the UK but a traditional waterproof jacket gets way too hot when the going is steep in cold but dry or mixed weather. The answer? Let us whisper in your ear…it’s called soft-shell.
Black Diamond® = Climbing and Skiing. A brand well known for quality and innovation in climbing equipment, BD addresses the clothing needs of alpinists with the same level of intuitive design, rigorous engineering and beautiful execution. Countryside Ski & Climb is one of a few handpicked specialist UK launch partners and this winter’s range is frankly, awesome.
Design classics like Bauhaus chairs and the Coca-Cola bottle have an unassailable perfection and as such have often been cited as influence for designs thereafter. At Countryside Ski & Climb we think it’s fair to say that Patagonia is a brand that has produced several design icons of their own although they wouldn’t shout about it.
The world celebrates the late legend Lou Reed this week and although the walking we do at Countryside Ski & Climb is somewhat different to the ‘wild side’ his song ventured into, the stories he told in his music reflect life and its ups and downs, which resonates with adventure seekers of every kind.
