The Salomon Driver Prime SIGMA™ Photo MIPS® Visor Ski Helmet brings together premium impact protection, innovative photochromic lens technology and exceptional comfort in a sophisticated all-in-one design. Combining the convenience of an integrated visor with the appearance and expansive visibility of traditional ski goggles, this premium helmet features Salomon's advanced MIPS®, EPS4D and Smart Safety 360 protection technologies, a precision BOA® Fit System and an interchangeable magnetic SIGMA™ Photochromic visor. Finished in classic black, it's an excellent choice for piste and all-mountain skiers seeking outstanding protection, adaptable visibility and all-day comfort.
At the heart of the Driver Prime is Salomon's comprehensive approach to impact protection. MIPS® technology is designed to help reduce rotational forces transmitted to the head during certain angled impacts, while patented EPS4D construction improves energy absorption from vertical and oblique impacts. Salomon's Smart Safety 360 system combines EPS4D with strategically positioned EPP material surrounding the head, providing additional impact management. These technologies work alongside a durable hybrid shell construction, combining an injected ABS upper shell with a lightweight In-Mould lower section for an excellent balance of strength, protection and ventilation.
The integrated SIGMA™ Photo Sky Blue visor features advanced photochromic technology with a Category 1–3 light transmission range, automatically adjusting its tint as mountain conditions change. The lens darkens in bright sunshine and becomes lighter as cloud cover increases, helping maintain comfortable visibility without requiring frequent lens changes. Salomon's SIGMA™ technology also enhances colour contrast, making subtle variations in snow texture, terrain contours and obstacles easier to distinguish for greater confidence on the mountain.
Salomon's Amplified Vision design provides excellent horizontal and vertical peripheral visibility, helping skiers maintain greater awareness of their surroundings. The innovative magnetic lens-changing system allows the visor to be removed and replaced quickly, while the Motion Shield Advanced mechanism enables it to be smoothly raised or lowered, closely replicating the natural positioning of traditional ski goggles. The accommodating visor design can also be worn over suitable prescription glasses, making the Driver Prime particularly appealing to skiers who prefer not to wear contact lenses.
Comfort is equally impressive. The micro-adjustable BOA® Fit System allows precise adjustment around the head, while Salomon's MaxFit construction and anatomically shaped 3D ear pads provide a secure, comfortable fit. A soft, breathable 100% merino wool lining helps regulate temperature and manage moisture, while adjustable Active Ventilation allows airflow to be increased or reduced according to weather conditions and activity levels.
A convenient FIDLOCK® magnetic-mechanical buckle makes fastening and removing the helmet straightforward, even when wearing gloves. The removable, washable lining adds everyday practicality, while the included helmet bag and visor travel pouch provide convenient protection during storage and transport.
Combining Salomon's advanced safety technologies with a versatile photochromic visor, premium fit adjustment and comfortable all-day construction, the Driver Prime SIGMA™ Photo MIPS® is an excellent choice for skiers seeking a high-performance visor helmet that adapts effortlessly to changing mountain conditions.
