The Salomon Driver Prime SIGMA™ Plus MIPS® Visor Ski Helmet combines premium impact protection, advanced lens technology and exceptional comfort in a sophisticated all-in-one design. Bringing together the performance of a high-quality ski helmet and the convenience of integrated goggles, this innovative visor helmet features Salomon's MIPS® and EPS4D safety technologies, a precision BOA® Fit System and two interchangeable SIGMA™ magnetic visors. Finished in the distinctive Ice Flow colourway, it's an excellent choice for skiers seeking outstanding protection, visibility and convenience across the mountain.
At the heart of the Driver Prime is Salomon's comprehensive approach to impact protection. MIPS® technology is designed to help reduce rotational forces transmitted to the head during certain angled impacts, while the patented EPS4D construction improves energy absorption from vertical and oblique impacts. Salomon's Smart Safety 360 system adds an additional layer of protection through strategically positioned EPP material surrounding the head. Combined with a durable hybrid shell construction, these technologies deliver a reassuring combination of protection, strength and comfort for demanding days on the slopes.
The integrated visor system provides the convenience of ski goggles without the need for a separate frame and strap. The main SIGMA™ Sky Blue visor features a Category 3 tint with 15% visible light transmission (VLT), making it particularly well suited to bright sunshine and clear mountain conditions. Salomon's SIGMA™ technology enhances colour contrast, helping skiers identify subtle variations in snow texture, terrain contours and obstacles more clearly.
When conditions become cloudier, the included SIGMA™ Ice Blue spare visor offers a Category 2 tint with 31% VLT, allowing additional light through for improved visibility in mixed conditions. Both lenses benefit from Salomon's Amplified Vision design, providing excellent horizontal and vertical peripheral visibility. The intuitive magnetic lens-changing system allows the two visors to be swapped quickly and securely, making it easy to adapt to changing weather throughout the day.
The innovative Motion Shield Advanced mechanism allows the visor to be smoothly raised or lowered, closely replicating the movement of traditional ski goggles. The accommodating design also fits comfortably over suitable prescription glasses, making the Driver Prime particularly appealing to skiers who prefer not to wear contact lenses or separate goggles.
Comfort is equally impressive. The micro-adjustable BOA® Fit System allows precise adjustment around the head, while Salomon's MaxFit construction and anatomically shaped 3D ear pads provide a secure, comfortable fit. A breathable 100% merino wool lining helps regulate temperature and manage moisture, while adjustable Active Ventilation allows airflow to be increased or reduced depending on the conditions and your activity level.
A convenient FIDLOCK® magnetic-mechanical buckle makes fastening and removing the helmet straightforward, even when wearing gloves. The removable, washable lining adds practicality for regular use, while the included helmet bag provides convenient storage and protection during travel.
Combining Salomon's premium helmet protection with versatile interchangeable visors, the Driver Prime SIGMA™ Plus MIPS® is an outstanding choice for piste and all-mountain skiers who value safety, visual clarity and all-day comfort in one integrated package.
