Annapurna Men's Jacket
An exceptionally warm jacket for Himalayan summits and Polar travel, the Annapurna remains a definitive design after nearly 50 years.
The Annapurna has been a constant in the Mountain Equipment range since the 1970s. A benchmark in warmth and protection for high altitude and Polar use as well as for camera crews, military personnel and anyone forced to spend protracted time at extremely low temperatures.
Information
The Annapurna has been a constant in the Mountain Equipment range since the 1970s. A benchmark in warmth and protection for high altitude and Polar use as well as for camera crews, military personnel and anyone forced to spend protracted time at extremely low temperatures.
Evolving through the decades, the Annapurna is a thoroughly modern down jacket and uses all insulation expertise to maximise its performance in freezing, hostile environments. With a full box wall construction, it’s significantly warmer than jackets with stitch through baffles like the Lightline. This comes with a slight increase in weight and bulk, but as temperatures dip below -10C and beyond, that is normally a more than worthwhile trade-off. 388g of high quality down provide exceptional warmth, with the down controlled by baffles optimised across the jacket for the best loft possible. This is further helped by panels of synthetic POLARLOFTⓇ insulation across the front of the body, lower sleeves and shoulders, these not only resist compression but also resist the ingress of damp during the most intense use.
The Drilite Ⓡ Loft outer shell is completely windproof and highly weather resistant, whilst still sufficiently breathable to prevent moisture build up during sustained use. Chunky, moulded zips are used throughout for ease of use with gloves, and large internal pockets stop water bottles and spare mitts from freezing.
